Post Confederation Poetry

Voices from Across a Growing Nation

Beyond the celebrated names of Confederation, a rich chorus of poets was writing across Canada found in small towns, in drawing rooms, on the prairies and Atlantic shores. The Post Confederation Poets series brings together 32 titles from writers like Harriett Annie Wilkins, Ethelwyn Wetherald, and Virna Sheard, many of them women whose work was once widely read but has since slipped from view. This series restores those voices to their rightful place in the Canadian literary tradition.
