The First 6 in the Series
The six titles illustrated are the first in a series of books celebrating the talent of contemporary Canadian ceramic artists. The artists selected have exhibited excellence in their career trajectory that has culminated in the body of work illustrated. The Frye Canadian Ceramicist Collection’s goal is to acquaint collectors and art lovers to the often unheralded Canadian Artists working in the clay medium. What they are not is as important as what they are. These are not how-to books though the chosen artists are masters of their chosen technique. These books instead address the motivation of artists who pursue their artistic vision in a technically demanding medium. The intent of the series is to further enrich those interested in the clay arts by acquainting them with the intimacy of the narrative of the artist and to encourage others to support ceramic arts.
