Arthur S. Bourinot work has appeared in many Canadian and American periodicals as well as in a number of leading anthologies. His verse for children has had a very favourable reception from young readers and their elders. Some of his nine published books include Laurentian Lyrics, Selected Poems 1915-1935, Rhymes of the French Regime, and Under the Sun. In 1919 his poem “Canada’s Fallen” was awarded the Governor- General’s prize in a national competition. Under the Sun, his last book, received the Governor General’s medal for the best volume of poetry published in 1939.
